Saying goodbye is one is one of life’s most challenging and significant acts of love
The Process:
1. The Interview
In our first meeting, I will gently prompt you to tell the story of your loved one. We will work together to uncover memories, significant events, funny anecdotes and important relationships to really their spirit.
This meeting can take place one on one, or I am happy to meet with a family group if that is preferred.
By recording everyone’s voice, I will be able to craft a beautiful ceremony that authentically captures your loved one’s character and celebrates their life with honour and respect.
2. Scripting the Ceremony
This is completely guided by you and the close loved ones of the deceased person. I can take your words from the interview and write a full ceremony and eulogy, or provide guidance to whoever wishes to take on this important role.
I will support you with selecting music, readings and rituals, and guide you in the selection of photographs or other important memorial items that you wish to be displayed in the ceremony.
3. The Day of the Ceremony
My role on the day is to ease the grieving process by providing a steady, calm and gentle presence to mourners. I will work with the funeral director to ensure the ceremony is conducted with respect and with the spirit of the person at its centre.
Often families wish for me to lead the ceremony with some individual tributes or readings. At other times, I have done all the readings on behalf of the family. The level of my involvement is completely up to you.
Together, we will create a uniquely memorable celebration for your love done, where everyone in attendance will feel held and supported in their grief, while also connecting in joy and celebration at a life well lived.
